Brief Description
This atchin tan is in an abandoned quarry on a lane called Long Rake just off the A515 at Parsley Hay. Long Rake is the road you'd take to Arbour Low stone circle. The atchin tan looks like a layby and is only a few metres up Long Rake from the A515. It is opposite a small wood and on the line of the old Roman Road.
Parsley Hay
All that we know about this atchin tan is that it was stopped in every year by just one Traveller. The Traveller was an elderly gentleman and he travelled alone in a Vardo or Gypsy Caravan. No-one seems to know who he was, where he was going and why he chose to stop here at Parsley Hay.
